Day 10 – Thursday May 15

A day to relax. Trip to White Cloud Mountain (Baiyun Shan) and Bird Spring Valley Park (Mingchun Valley) with Catherine and the son, Kenny, of one here friends. Kenny graduated college this week and wanted to volunteer with Holt. Catherine is our Holt escort. Crystal had a massage while Madeline and I took a nap. Madeline’s personality is starting to come out. We are having fun trying to figure her out and trying to figure out our routine.
The park was beautiful and the weather was such that we felt we were on a white cloud. Lunch today was at an outdoor restaurant on White Cloud Mountain. Catherine mentioned having frog as one of our entrées however changed her mind when Crystal and I said we would try it. I also surprised her with my proficiency with chop sticks. I surprised myself as well since I was holding Madeline with one arm and using chop sticks with the other. This evening we walked around Shamian Island, ate again at the Cow and Bridge Thai restaurant, and looked through the local shops planning our bartering assault at a later time.
