It started this afternoon. Madeline started playing with Crystal. She was really playing with one of her toys. She has for the most part been hands off when it comes to playing. She just sits there looking at things with her hands in the air. Whenever we try to place a toy in her hand she normally pulls her hand away. However this afternoon she was really playing, touching, and moving all the parts. We hated to stop playing however we were getting hungry so off we went and off she we went. As we were walking down the street she was starting to become vocal, humming or muttering, and then she started laughing with Crystal and smiling!!!! We all were so happy we continued laughing all the way down the street. The locals and tourists alike were watching us and smiling and laughing with us. Just wonderful.
Then…and then after dinner, on our walk back to the hotel, the crying started. She has cried before but just for brief moments like when we were administering her medications and for her grieving, this time she meant business. Our pace back was brisk however not brisk enough. She cried the whole way to the hotel and to our room. She continued crying in the room. We felt that since she was in a good mood anyway why not get the medications over with and a quick sponge bath, so we did. She cried the whole time. We changed diapers and into bed clothes…cry, cry, cry. I attempted to sooth her however Crystal was the one to succeed. She is asleep in her crib now. Just wonderful.
