Day 5 - Happy Mother's Day

Our Holt orientation meeting was this morning and we received two updated photo’s of Madeline. She has long hair!!!!! The same chubby cheeks. She weighs almost 21 pounds and is 27 ½ inches tall. Very cute. We can hardly contain ourselves. The room must have been dusty as my eyes became watery.
After hiking to the top of the Great Wall and back yesterday my legs were like noodles, very wobbly, so I went to sleep early and Crystal stayed up to write. Did I tell you we received two more pictures of Madeline? Yes we did. We also meet two other adopting families at the orientation. One couple from SE Portland and another from NE Iowa . We all ate lunch together and took a half day tour of the Temple of Heaven and Tian’An Men Square. This has been a fantastic trip for sightseeing. I am not able to amply describe all these experiences. Fantastic, awesome, breathtaking…and that just begins to describe Crystal. The weather today did not start out well. It rained this morning while we were inside for the orientation and lunch. It was very windy and very chilly during our tour of the Temple of Heaven. However the sun came out while were touring Tian’An Men Square and it was quite nice. Madeline, Madeline, Madeline. Back at the hotel we had a small dinner with the other families and off to our rooms to pack for tomorrow. Check out is 5:30am for us for our flight to see Madeline in person. Currently we are making sure all our batteries are charged.
